ABOUT ARTIST

Hannes Schauer is an Austrian painter and electronic music composer, currently residing in Vienna. He has lived in various parts of the world, including London, Istanbul, and Southeast Asia. Hannes is not interested in traditional work processes, but rather in accidents, mistakes, and experiments that occur along the way. His inspiration comes from his professional experience working with people on the fringes of society as well as from nature. Hannes primarily uses acrylic paint, antique ink, and water on primed or raw canvas. He started his artistic journey with portraiture and moved into abstract expressionism, particularly color field painting, soak-stain technique, and action painting. Hannes constantly pushes his limits to encourage conversation and re-thinking. He received his art degree from the College for Arts, Crafts & Design in Kramsach, Austria. His work has been featured in various art collections worldwide, and he has worked with high-profile clients, international art dealers, interior designers, and galleries. Hannes has exhibited his work at various events including the Liverpool Biennial, International Art Week Istanbul, Art Basel, and the International Art Fair Milan.
